Cooling Video Kits

Discussion starters for individuals and staff meetings in Anglican schools

Professor Trevor Cooling is Faculty Director at the National Institute for Christian Research, Canterbury Christ Church University UK and an internationally respected speaker on Christian education. During his most recent visit to Australia, Professor Cooling spoke to EdComm about the issues facing Christian teachers and leaders in Anglican and independent Christian schools today.

EdComm has produced the Cooling Video Kit as a five-part series for individual or group use primarily in Anglican schools. Each video is designed as a discussion starter with introductory notes and questions to get all staff thinking through their school’s approach to biblically-shaped education.

Part 1: The Core Purpose of an Anglican School

Part 5: What is biblically-shaped education?

For Christians in the Anglican tradition, the Bible is the final authority on what we believe and how we are to live. Indeed, our ‘Diocesan Policy Statement on Education’ (2007) makes it clear that a Christian approach to education is deeply informed by biblical theology and worldview. Professor Trevor Cooling talks about biblically-shaped education as the framework of learning experiences drawn from the biblical story.
